ABOUT ME
After having four births of my own, each being totally different, unexpected in nature, and none being at all what I had envisioned for my “birth plan,” I realized that in each birth I had a longing for a support system (apart from my husband) that would understand my needs, be there with me by my side from beginning to end both emotionally and physically. This person would comfort me, encourage me, remind me of my birth goals, and guide me through the unplanned circumstances and often routine procedures of the medical field. In a word, 24 years later, I recognized that all along I had longed for a Doula!
The word DOULA is of Greek origin meaning “servant woman.” My hope is to use my knowledge and abilities to fulfill this role and the work God has given me.
During the years after my four children were born, my childhood dream of motherhood was confirmed. God has graciously opened the door for me to continue in my passion for women, newborns, and their families in allowing me to become a doula. Serving, encouraging, guiding, supporting, listening, and actively participating in one of life's most intimate and important seasons is a privilege I am deeply committed to.

My time raising children in Spain, alongside a community of women from a variety of countries and cultures opened opportunities to assist in the birth process and raising families together. This process further influenced and drove my journey to where God has led me now in Decatur, Texas. It is my heart's desire to serve you and your growing family in a way that is best for your family.
MY MISSION is to give you and your partner physical and emotional support, to be an advocate for the decisions you have made, and to compliment your health professionals on this journey.
Your baby's birth is a memory that you will hold close for the rest of your life. I want to be there to capture your story throughout the entire process while doing my best to keep the experience positive, safe, and satisfying. Through guidance, reassurance, personal and professional experience, knowledge, and commitment, my goal, and heart’s desire is to help you have a satisfying birth, as you, the mother defines it. While continuing to stick by your side through the unknowns of adjusting to motherhood and life with your new little one.
In order to accomplish this, I want to be an active participant in this process. I will provide continuous emotional reassurance and comfort from the moment you contact me, through labor and birth, and in the months after.

I am looking forward to serving you and your family during this beautiful time!
